# 🫵 Account Settings

The Account Settings section within GetHookd empowers you to manage your user profile and keep your information up-to-date. Here, you can control how you're represented within the app.

###### Managing Your Profile:
* **Profile Picture:** Update or add a profile picture to personalize your GetHookd account. A clear and recognizable profile picture can help you establish a professional presence within the app.
* **Personal Information**: Edit your personal details, including your name, location, and email address. Ensure your information is accurate to maintain a seamless user experience.
* **Change Password**: You can change your password any time from the **Login** section of Account Settings. You'll be asked for your *current* password, then your new one. We recommend a strong, unique password to keep your account safe. (Signed up with Google and don't have a password yet? See below.)

By effectively managing your Account Settings in GetHookd, you can personalize your profile and ensure your information remains current.

### Signed up with Google and want to set a password?

If you created your account with **Sign in with Google**, you don't have a password yet — so the **Change Password** form in Account Settings won't work for you. It asks for your *current* password, and you don't have one to enter.

Here's how to set one:

1. Go to the **sign-in page** and click **Forgot your password?** (just below the password box).
2. Type in your account email and submit — we'll email you a reset link.
3. Open that email, click the link, and choose your **new password**.

That's it :) From then on you can sign in with your email and password, and your Google sign-in will keep working too.

### FAQs

**I signed up with Google — what should I enter as the old (current) password?**
Nothing — you don't have one yet, so the **Change Password** form in Account Settings can't be used. Instead, head to the sign-in page, click **Forgot your password?**, enter your email, and set a password from the reset link we email you. Once that's done, you can sign in with your email and password.

**Will setting a password remove my Google sign-in?**
No :) You'll be able to sign in either way — with your new email and password, or with **Sign in with Google**.
