The GetHookd Chrome Extension lets you save ads directly from the Meta Ad Library into your Swipe File or a specific Board inside GetHookd — without leaving your browser.
Before you start
- Browser: Google Chrome only.
- Access: Requires a GetHookd account and active login.
- Where it works: Meta Ad Library pages (e.g., facebook.com/ads/library).
- Estimated setup: 1–2 minutes.
Step-by-step
1. Install the extension
- Visit the Chrome Web Store.
- Click Add to Chrome → Add extension.
- Pin the extension to your Chrome toolbar for easy access.
2. Log in
- Click the GetHookd icon in your browser toolbar.
- If you’re not logged in, click Login and sign in with your GetHookd credentials.
- Once logged in, you’ll see the extension’s checklist and Default Board dropdown.
3. Save ads from the Meta Ad Library
When browsing any Meta Ad Library page:
Option 1: Save to Swipe File or Explore
- Click Save to GetHookd on any ad card.
- The ad will appear in both your Swipe File and Explore tab inside the app.
Option 2: Save to a specific Board
- Use the Select Board dropdown above the ad.
- Choose the desired board → click Save to GetHookd.
- The ad will be added to that board and synced to your Swipe File.
Option 3: Use a Default Board
- Click the extension icon → choose a Default Board.
- Every ad on the current Meta Ad Library page will save to that board automatically.
Success check
- The ad appears in your Swipe File and under the selected Board in-app.
- If you’ve set a Default Board, future saves apply automatically to that board.
Troubleshooting

FAQs
- Q: Where do saved ads appear in GetHookd?
A: In your Swipe File and Explore tabs.
- Q: Can I edit the board later?
A: Yes. In GetHookd, open the Swipe File → click the ad → change its board from the sidebar.
- Q: Does it work on TikTok or YouTube?
A: Currently, only Meta Ad Library is supported. TikTok Ad Library support is planned.
Notes & limits
- The extension only detects ads from supported library URLs.
- You must stay logged in to GetHookd.ai in the same browser session.
- Some large video ads may take a few extra seconds to save.
